Installing ProsePoint

Support and issues about installing ProsePoint.

PROBLEM w/ CLEAN URLS during installation

i'm in the middle of a brand new installation of ProsePoint 0.35 on a new server (BlueHost).  i can't get past the "Configure site" step because the installation thinks that my server does not support clean urls.  according to a BlueHost tech support person and the documentation on the site, the mod_rewrite extension is already enabled by default AND mod_security is NOT running per the PP requirements.  please help!  thank you!

MOVING SERVERS

i am about to attempt to move a ProsePoint site from a GoDaddy account to a BlueHost account.  i am new to ProsePoint/Drupal... i'm assuming this is possible, right?  any tips out there before i attempt this?  BlueHost has SimpleScripts which can automatically install Drupal for you.  this is something that i did before i realized that i should start with a clean slate because the ProsePoint installation includes Drupal.  anything else i should be aware of?  thank you, ProsePoint community!  any help would be appreciated.

What am i supposed to do now?

Im completely new to web design. Rather proficient at InDesign, in a Newspaper publisher sort of way. I downloaded the program but looked for an exe file or an install file....couldnt find either.... Am i out of my element here? it seems outside my capabilities in as much as i cant see anything happening and dont see a "idiots Button" what should i do?

Installation error/zend optimizer

I think this has already been addressed, but I couldn't find the post. I am trying to install Prosepoint on a site hosted at Justhost. I got almost through, but my webpage says "please install zend optimizer" and that is all. I can't even get back the configure/install page. The only page I can access says "Welcome to your new Drupal website".

I've heard there are issues with ProsePoint and cPanel. BTW, I'm installing Prosepoint 0.34 on a linux apache server at Justhost.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Errors During Prosepoint Install

Hi all! I'm trying to install ProsePoint on the following setup:

  • Windows 7 x64
  • WAMPServer 2.0
  • Apache 2.2.11
  • PHP 5.3.0
  • MySQL 5.1.36

I've followed the user guide instructions for installing PP. I've created a database, created a user with the proper permissions, extracted the PP files to a directory under localhost (I'll call it DIR). Bu when it comes time to load up ProsePoint to configure the site, the first page of the wizard throws 2 PHP errors:

Can't conect to MySQL

I installed Drupal 6 using GoDaddy and uploaded Prosepoint into its own folder but now I'm getting this message when I try to set up the Prosepoint database:

Failed to connect to your MySQL database server. MySQL reports the following message: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/usr/local/mysql-5.0/data/mysql.sock' (2).

Solutions for several (and critical) errors when trying to install Prosepoint (locale, newer versions of PHP 5.3.2 and others)

Hi,

I'm still struggling since a couple or three months to get Prosepoint installed.

First of all, I'm using a locale different to English in my computer.

Installation steps 1, 2 and 3 go well, but I get an error on step 4 ("Install site"):

"An error occurred. http://localhost/prosepoint/install.php?locale=&profile=prosepoint&id=1&... (no information available)."

However, the installation process could be completed succesfully, apparently, since, after the error, I got a link to "Please continue to the error page",

Error Prosepoint alraedy installed

Hi, I have been able to reach till the 7th step of choosing prosepoint variant in setup, but after choosing any variant , instead of finishing the set up. it gives the message Prosepoint already installed, either you empty the database , or to install in different database make changes in settings.php, or to upgrade click on update script.

Pls advise

INSTALLATION PROSEPOINT HELP

Hi,

Plesk, Prosepoint, Root Server

Hi,

I am trying to use PP on a Plesk environment, using CentOS5.  There are many issues that I have encounted using Plesk ranging from permissions, to not being able to read, write, or create the /tmp file that PP needs.  Is there a checklist that you could provide for the Plesk environment.  I have always used cPanel, and there have never been issues.   Thanks.

Zarrar
